Marallyse puzzles over the lack of response of Balustin, but the thought of the man disappears from her head when she sees the halfling. She nods, smiling, realizing that this is one of the few times she'd be viewed as tall. "I would love the cider. I am called Marallyse. What are the plans then for traveling?"
As Rowan has his little display, Marallyse rolls her eyes. "Lighten up, grumpy!" she shouts after him, draining her cider mug as she then secures her pack to go. She becomes quickly lost in thought, and says no more.

IC: Ariand smiles up at the tall human, giving her the cider and is about to respond to her question when the large half-elf walks in and makes his announcement. She scowls momentarily as she recognizes him. Sensing her mood, Keysha chitters angrily. Ariand quickly scoops up the ferret and stows her in the pack. Ariand squeaks indignantly, but, when Ariand scoops up a piece of leftover fruit from the table and gives it to her. She mumbles contendly and tears into the treat.
Smiling fondly, Ariand shoulders her pack and moves to follow Aleaina. Following the young noble to the stables, Ariand waits quietly in the shadows of a stall. When Aleaina is mounted, Ariand, without waiting for permission, swarms up after the human, seating herself at the front of the saddle. She smiles up at the startled woman.
"Well, it seemed that noone had time to give us an answer. And, since I have always believed that it easier to beg forgivness than ask permission...."
She softens her expression, smiling wistfully, and a bit sadly.
"If you wish, I *will* leave. But I truly did mean it when I said I was lonely for companions. It has been long and long since my feet shared the road with friends."
Ariand smiles sadly and lowers her gaze, waiting for answer.
