Heya! I just saw it (dvd version) yesterday and thought it was pretty good , though the ending was a bit unexpected (but cool). What do you think about this movie folks , and do you think that the philosophical (sp?) issues of it are possible or not? Untill next weekend , have fun dudes! ;D

What's wrong with you guys? That was one of the greatest movies I've seen in years! In most ways. If you liked it, you might wanna see "6th sense" too. A bit scarier, but part of the yet-to-be-finnished "Philladelpia (sp?) trilogy".

I loved 6th Sense (though I had figured out the ending before the end). I saw Unbreakable because I had seen 6th Sense and loved it. I didn't think it was quite as good as 6th Sense, thought I thorouhgly enjoyed.......and I didn't figure out the ending on this one.

I personally loved both movies, and was given MUCH to think about by both of em.
Bruce Willis was great in both, and I think that his performance in 6th Sense stretched his acting abilities in a new direction that we haven't really seen much from Bruce before (except for the Story Of Us).

Well I said this in the old MH, and I'll say it again: I didn't really like The 6th Sense. The ending was a cool twist, but that doesn't make up for the rest of it bordering on cheesy at times.

I haven't seen Unbreakable, but I did see the Sixth Sense. It was certainly enjoyable and had a good plot (although, like Reeka, I'd seen through it before the end of the movie) but it didn't exactly leave a huge impression either. My boyfriend rented Unbreakbale when I was on holiday, and wasn't exactly smitten, so I haven't bothered with it. Personally, the idea of a movie raising serious philosophical questions is a bit dubious anyway - books are much more capable of that, IMHO. Not saying that no movie ever did that, just that most don't.

Unbreakable was an EXCELLENT film, I thought
I loved the idea of a low-key superpower
And the grim and gritty nature of the film made it all the more watchable

For once (and I swear never to let it happen again) I am in compleate agreement the 6th sense was one of the biggest piles of Cheesey second rate cliched cack ive seen in years. The whole film was predictable right up to the end (which I had sussed not long after the kid (possably the only redeeming feature in that film) announced in that voice he used the whole of the way through the film "I can see dead people".

i think my friend quinn made a very valid point about "the sixth sense." and it's a valid point about many movies, really. the trailer blows a major plot point, and essentially spoils a huge part of the suspense. throughout most of the movie bruce willis' character is struggling to figure out what the hell is so terribly wrong with this poor kid, and (quinn's words) you're sitting there wanting to scream "he sees dead people you dolt!!! didn't you see the trailer?!?"
all that aside, i managed to be surprised by the endings of both movies. fight club too. my friends know better than to talk about movies i haven't seen yet, on threat of death. and i try to save the analysis for after the credits. works for me.
enjoyed all 3 movies, but neither of the shyamalin (got to be spelled horribly incorrectly) films would make my tiptop list.
