Anyone know how I can get around a router acting as a firewall? I can't recieve files with ICQ, and ofttimes can't even SEND files thru Yahoo Messenger...
I have a Cable/DSL router that is plugged into a switcher, that is networking 3 computers. (Don't ask, it's a long and very dumb story)

Hmm Well the way ICQ sends files requires that a Direct Connection is present, try setting the alert/accept modes (if ur useing 2000b) to always connect through server, and see if you can establish a connection that way, you will need to do this with everyone and they with you.
The only other was is to map the incomeing TCP/IP and port to allow it remote access....

ahh the eternal firewall issues, lol have those myself. You will probably have to see around those nat settings, or make a route or two. If the two other computers are not that important you can take the serverip for yourself, on that ip the ports are open
