Hi,
Anyone here read any of this series of Celtic fantasy novels?
I`m not easily impressed with Fantasy fiction...for me, just being "good" isnt enough... it has to be better than that. Katherine Kerr`s Deverry series doesnt have graphic sex scenes, nor does it have pseudo Hobbits or many "fantastic" monsters. But it does have a unique take on Celtic fiction and fantasy, encompssing druidic dweomer and a storyline that twists and changes through generations that are linked via previous lives. Youll find Barbarians, dwarves, Lord`s , Ladies, Knights, dragons, herbmasters, monk, priests, sprites , and quite uniquely, the elven race as Id not seen them portrayed or written before. In all honesty, I`ve not come across a series of fantasy novels that have managed to capture so much "reality" of what is essentially pure fiction. All told, I think there are about 15 of them split into 3 or 4 sets of chronicles, and I`m one book away from the finale.
I only posted here to see if anyone else had seen, heard of, or actually read any of them?

I've read the first 2, if I recall correctly, and didn't continue because I didn't really like them. Granted, they're written in a very realistic way, but never seemed able to get a grip on me.
Maybe I'll give them another try in a couple of years, but my first impression was no thanks.
