Needing more to read, what do you recommend. Can we keep this to books published in the last 2 years.

Have you ever tried Harry Turtledove? He writes Alternative History, SF and Fantasy.

Most of the stuff I've been reading lately most definitely has NOT been published in the last two years (Edgar Allen Poe, Leaves of Grass, The Two Towers), but I recently finished a couple of Stephen King books which I really enjoyed. Hearts in Atlantis and The Black House were both really good. The first can be enjoyed by anyone, I think, while the second might be a little gruesome and frightening for those who do not like that sort of thing. (If I remember correctly, you're not much into horror, right?) Hearts in Atlantis does tie into a major theme/storyline that runs throughout many of King's books, but even if you've never read another book by King, it is still an enjoyable book.
