For those in my group who care This is The Myth of T'kul, told by the followers of the Dark God T'kul....so it's biased, of course *** And lo, a bright harvest month morning became brighter still when a falling star shot into the Sacred Well of Nystuph. the waters gave power and strength to the star, and the birth of the morning was the birth of a new god. The Reikiki deities cried out to the Lord and the Lady and cried stronger to the 12 of Shypharakan. They feared what they sensed and became most cowardly. Their Rekiki pets turned once to the left and once to the right. The Holy Four ran and hid, then fled Nykas never to return. As cowardly as they were, perhaps they showed the most wisdom. For the 12 of Shyparakan and the Lord and the Lady--who scoffed at the Newling's great powers--merely ignored his growing strength and continued as they always had done. Seven mornings passed, and then one god surfaced through dawn's tears. For no other water existed at Nystuph; T'kul the Newling absorbed the well and made himself whole. He looked around the now desert land and frowned. T'kul saw no beloved people. He greatly desired the respect and adoration of all of Nykas, and so departed the Desert Nystuph in search of followers.

Seven mornings passed again, and T'kul assessed what he must do. The gods of Nykas were weak and fell, one after the other. First he slew the most dangerous pair--the Lord and the Lady--whilst they locked in passion's embrace. So great was their ardor that they never awoke from it; the Great Starfire blade sliced through their entangled bodes as a knife to warm butter. Only the Shypharakans remained.
The 12 he destroyed one by one. Always they fought amongst themselves. Perhaps banded they might have lasted longer. But even with Death grinning at the keep door they could not halt the bickering. The cowardlly Hurun, weakest of the 12, escaped the wrath of T'kul by hiding. The rest of the 12 fell one by one to Starfire, with each death multiplying the power of T'kul. Only Warrior Adur lasted until the 14th day, though cunning and trickery. So great was the battle that T'kul lost an eye to the dragon headed Adur. T'kul, in admiration and hatred, claimed all other dragon headed beasts to be slain in his name.

And so it came to be. The one god, the true warrior T'kul, demanded Nykas to follow his rule. The best of the world came forth immediately and offered gifts. The other faiths of Nykas slowly disappeared.
But one unruly group from Tulunimar refused the just rule of T'kul. The witches of Tulunimar, banded with the great dragons, fought against T'kul and his righteous followers for 7 years, 7 months, and 7 days. Great was their power, but greater still was the power of T'kul. After the creation of the Right and Left Hand of T'kul, the bitches and beasts of Tulunimar were annihilated.
O it shall be with all who protest the good, just, and benevolent T'kul. The warrior god is mightier than all, and seeks only rightful adoration in return for his protection and love. Long live T'kul, who has shown us the warrior's path! Long live T'kul, who has shown us what men can become! Long live T'kul, who has proven that One God is the Only God!

Great story, dear! I have a sudden urge to have the Dragon God of Caldera pay a visit to Nykas though.
